RING SIZING
If you don’t know your ring size you can calculate it in two ways:
Measure the inside diameter of one of your ring:
choose one ring that fits your ring finger;
place the ruler underneath your ring;
calculate the diameter of the ring circumference in mm.
Calculate the circumference of your finger with the help of a ruler and a string of paper:
cut a piece of paper (it should be at least 5 cm long);
wrap it snugly around your ring finger at the base of the knuckle;
using a pen, mark where the ends overlap;
lay it flat and use a ruler to measure the length in mm.
TO KNOW
Your ring should fit your finger comfortably – snug enough so that it will not fall off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle with some resistance.
Finger size changes depending on the time of day and the weather. For best results measure your finger size:
1. during the day when your fingers are warm.
2. repeat it 3 to 4 times to eliminate any wrong reading.
Temperature is important
Don’t measure when your body temperature is either too cold or too hot. A cold finger shrinks while a hot finger expands causing an inaccurate reading. Measure only when fingers are at room temperature.
When two sizes seem to fit
If you hesitate between two sizes, always go with the larger one.
Don’t use strings
Strings tend to stretch, which can result in wrong measurement.
Big knuckles can affect your size
If your knuckle is a lot larger than the base of your finger, you may need to go up a size.
A wider band needs a bigger size
If you are purchasing a wide band, you will be more comfortable moving up a size from your measurement.
